New Students
If you intend to apply to study with Dr. Savin-Williams such that he chairs your graduate committee, you must apply through the graduate program in Human Development, not Psychology. If you apply through Psychology he can serve on your graduate committee, but he cannot serve as your chair.
Although there are no set limits, the Human Development graduate program is very competitive and typically no more than one student per year is admitted to Human Development to work with Dr. Savin-Williams. He does not decide who is selected; rather, the departmental Admissions Committee reviews applications and makes the final decision.
If you are applying through another graduate program (e.g., Psychology, Sociology, Neurobiology and Behavior, Policy Analysis & Management), you can be affiliated with the Sex & Gender Lab if Dr. Savin-Williams is on your graduate committee.
Continuing Graduate Students
If you would like to be a part of the Sex & Gender Lab, Dr. Savin-Williams must be a member of your graduate committee. Please contact him directly for details.
